What do we get for our membership fee?
 
Annual membership of SchoolEthos.ie offers access to as many staff members in your school as you wish, to our website and additional services. 
Different components of the service are:
·         A monthly online newsletter;
·         A members-only website with downloadable resources, including podcasts;
·         Access to our Marino School Policy Template Library;
·         On-going access to our Religious Education Resource Centre of DVD’s, books and other classroom resources;
·         Information and ideas on Student Leadership;
·         Regional seminars on topics relevant to school ethos and the teaching of Religious Education;
·         Retreats and international pilgrimage and on-going educational opportunities.
 

What if we were members of An Tobar or the Marino Policy website before this?
 
The good news is, you will receive even more online resources at a lower price. 
Annual membership is €250, if your school registers before the end of September and €275 after September 30th.  When you login to the website you will once again have access to the Search Engine for our RE Resource Centre and to the templates from the old Marino Policy Library Website. 
 

How do we join?
You can sign up here on the site by clicking Register in the Login area or you can fill out an application form and send it with the payment to Sr Anna in Marino Institute of Education, Griffith Avenue, Dublin 9. 
Please make cheques payable to Marino Institute of Education. 
 

How does the Lending Library work?
Under the Resources Tab on the homepage, click on Religious Education. This will bring you into the Search Engine as well as the area where you can download classroom resources. 
 
The Lending Library in Marino Institute has hundreds of books, textbooks, DVDs, videos and CDs . You key in a topic that you are teaching into the search engine or a specific resource that you are seeking and you can access what is available from our catalogue of resources. You simple order the resource online and Sr Anna will receive notification of your request and post the resource to you immediately. You can borrow the resource for two weeks and we ask you to post it back to us when you are finished.
 

How do I upload information?
On our homepage click on the area that says ‘Contribute your Ideas’. This will bring you into the area where you can upload a hand-out or power point or image or class plan or series of classes that you are willing to share with other teachers. We encourage the sharing of good practice on the site and hope that you will find some good ideas from other teachers as well as upload your own. Don’t be shy!
 

Should I select "Remember me" when I log into SchoolEthos.ie?
If you select the "Remember me" option when logging in then a 'cookie' will be stored by your web-browser, which will keep you logged in to this site, otherwise your session will time out automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity. If you are using a shared computer or computer account then you should not select "Remember me". If you log out from the site (by selecting the "Log out" option from your navigation menu) then the 'cookie' that keeps you logged in is removed.
